Lesson of the Week: Doing Things That Don’t Scale

This week, I sent personalized Looms to a few dream companies I’d love to collaborate with. It only took 10 minutes per video, and I tailored each one to their current content strategy — what’s working, what’s missing, and how I could help.

It’s easy to default to generic outreach, but this felt way more human (and honestly, more fun). We’ll see if it pays off, but the act of making them reminded me:

→ People hire people who care

→ Video shows tone and enthusiasm better than words ever can

→ Real examples > a stack of links

Tool I Used: Loom (again and always).

If you’re a service provider or freelancer, try this approach with one potential client this week and see what happens.

P.S. if you want to give Loom a try, you can check it out here.

šŸ“š Currently Reading: Entrepreneur Revolution

I just started reading Entrepreneur Revolution by Daniel Priestley, and I’m furiously taking notes. It’s about ditching the outdated 9–5 industrial-era mindset and stepping into the creator/entrepreneur era — the kind I talk about here every week.

I loved this quote:

ā€œThere are only two choices in life: build your own dream or be hired by someone else to build theirs.ā€

What’s Going On In My World

I’ve launched a paid version of the newsletter!

I’ve officially soft-launched the paid tier of Creator Diaries—where I’ll go deeper into personal essays, behind-the-scenes building content, and in-depth interviews. More to come, but it’s live if you want in early and want to support the mission.

Office hours are still open — just a few spots left for May.

I’ve been hosting open office hours the past few weeks and they’ve been incredibly energizing. I’m pulling together a full post on what I’ve learned so far, but if you want to grab one of the last May slots, they’re still open.šŸ‘‡

I’m available for a writing project in June!

I have one client slot open for June — ideally a ghostwriting or content strategy project. If you need help turning ideas into high-impact content or want to revamp some blog content, feel free to reach out.

New tutorial: how I write with Chat GPT Deep Research.

I recorded a quick Loom on how I use ā€œdeep research modeā€ to write better articles—especially for content that needs a level of depth. (Spoiler alert: it’s life changing!) If you’re curious about my process, give it a watch.

ICYMI: Recent Creator Diaries highlights.

In case you missed it, here are a few recent favorites:

That’s it for this week—thanks for reading! Whether you’re deep in the building season or just starting to make the shift, I hope something here sparked a thought or gave you a nudge.

As always, hit reply if you want to share what you’re working on, and I’ll see you next week with more behind-the-scenes lessons and experiments.
